HEIDENHAIN Product Calibration / Accreditation
According to ISO 9001, certain HEIDENHAIN products must be traceable to a national standard in regular intervals. Since our high accuracy products are manufactured in Germany, this can be done by the PTB (Germany's National Metrology Institute) or a measuring lab accredited by the DKD (German Calibration Service) or the DAkkS (German Accreditation Body).
These measurements are performed in accordance with DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025. (Fig. 1)

Since 1994, HEIDENHAIN has been accredited for digital linear (Fig. 2) and angle encoders with electrical scanning. In other words, HEIDENHAIN calibration charts document the traceability of the respective measurement for these products.

In the past, HEIDENHAIN's calibration charts were accepted by ISO 9001. This common practice is now shifting and we are beginning to receive requests for calibration as per DIN ISO / IEC 17025. This of course can and will be done. However, there are costs associated with this and any inquiries will be directed and quoted through our service department.
Along with the calibration by serial number, documentation will be included describing the measuring set-up and results of the measurement with each respective product.
