Dr. Kummetz from HEIDENHAIN's R&D Department in Germany to speak on Machine Tool Energy Efficiency
During IMTS - Mon., Sept. 10 at 11:15 a.m.

As part of the Machine Design and Industrial Automation North America conference held during IMTS, HEIDENHAIN's own Dr. Kummetz is scheduled to speak on "Techniques for Boosting Machine Efficiency". The timely results on this well researched topic from HEIDENHAIN's R&D department will be the first presentation offered after the Keynote Speech of the conference's Motion Control in Automation track.

See HEIDENHAIN's "Inside Story"
at IMTS

IMTS 2012 (International Manufacturing Technology Show) on September 10 -15 provides visitors a great opportunity to see HEIDENHAIN's newest technologies, and to meet old and new business partners. Positioned under the HEIDENHAIN flag in Chicago's McCormick Place, expert personnel at the HEIDENHAIN booth (#E-5224) will demonstrate the latest and greatest in linear, angular and rotary encoders as well as TNC control and metrology technologies within the booth theme of "Accuracy: The Inside Story".

Here, at the booth, visitors will not only see new products but can also take part in two interactive motion control displays including a "Linear vs. Rotary" demonstration machine which highlights the benefits of closed-loop position feedback systems, and an "Angular Accuracy" demonstration machine, once again showcasing the importance of accuracy inside specifically pertaining to angular applications.

Product displays at the booth will include (exciting last-minute entries are always possible as well) the North American introduction of the TNC 640 control, new TS/TT 460 touch probes, and the MSE 1000 multiplexor, to name a few. The TNC 640 is the first milling-machine control by HEIDENHAIN offered with optional turning functions, suited for high speed cutting and 5-axis machining on machines up to 18 axes. The new touch probes are HEIDENHAIN's first to enable the user to transmit trigger signals either over infrared or radio waves, without having to change the touch probe. And the MSE 1000 multiplexor is a revolutionary intelligent encoder interface box.

Products from ACU-RITE, a HEIDENHAIN sister company, will also be in this IMTS booth featuring their market leading DRO systems and will also include the 3500i, an exciting touch screen CNC mill control now available to the market. Be sure to keep your eyes open for a surprise as well!

During IMTS, HEIDENHAIN is also pleased to be involved with various speaking engagements at other McCormick Place locations. Dr. Jens Kummetz, an R&D manager from HEIDENHAIN's headquarters in Germany, will be on hand to provide top-level research with one presentation highlighting "Energy Efficiency of Machine Tools" and the other on "The Importance of Accuracy in Machine Tools and Thermal Expansion Issues".

Please stop by the HEIDENHAIN booth for information on all this and more!
